Waiting is one of the hardest seasons we face. Whether you're waiting for healing, answers, a new opportunity, restored relationships, or simply for life to make sense again, it can feel like God is being silent with you.

But the waiting doesn't mean God has forgotten about you. I have to keep reminding myself and even my friends that this is not all there is. There is a bigger perspective here and we may not see it quite yet.

In scripture, patience isn't just about quietly passing time. It's about trusting God even when we can't see what He's doing. Every season of waiting has a purpose. God often uses these moments to strengthen our faith, shape our character, refining us, and prepare us for what He has planned.

Hypomonē is a Greek word which means patience, or to stay strong under hardships, while makrothumia means long suffering, self control and slow to anger. Both described under one fruit of the spirit; Patience.

Long suffering stood out to me when I first heard this explanation of patience. Made me reflect a little in all honestly, because I could feel that long suffering to my core (at the time) in the painstaking moments of my patience.

"But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently." Romans 8:25 (NIV)

Patience is choosing faith over fear. It's believing that God's timing is better than our own, even when the days feel long. I know all my type-A personalities out there that want to just control the situation and have a black/white answer immediately, but maybe God is delaying something for you that is bigger and better than you can even imagine. He is While we wait, we can (and should) continue to pray, serve, grow, and trust that He is working behind the scenes.

Remember, some of the greatest people in the Bible experienced long seasons of waiting. Yet God remained faithful to every promise He made.

If you are in a waiting season today, don't lose heart. The delay is not the end of your story. Keep trusting, keep praying, and keep taking one faithful step at a time. God is still writing your testimony.

I pray Father God that you lift up whoever is the waiting season. Help us to put our trust in you while we wait. Please give us the patience when we feel discouraged, peace when we feel uncertain, and faith to believe that You have these beautiful plans already written out for us.Thank you for never leaving our side even when we can't see what you're doing. AMEN.
