Starting a blog and vlog has been both exciting and a little intimidating. Like many beginners, I've spent hours researching equipment, learning new skills, and figuring out what actually works. The good news? You don't need a professional studio to get started. You just need a willingness to learn and a few helpful tools.

My goal is to document my journey while sharing gardening tips, chicken adventures, and homesteading projecting, and everyday life. As I learn, I'll also share honest reviews of the products I use so others can decide for themselves on what might work best for them.

Here are a few of the items that have made creating content easier:

  • A phone tripod to keep my videos steady while filming in the garden.

Magnetic Phone Tripod - Helpful when I need to film or photograph hands-free. This one in particular is magnetic and supports 360 degree angles along with a little remote that allows instant blue tooth pairing and a simple 1-click filming.

  • A wireless microphone for clearer audio, even when it's windy outside.

Wireless Mini Microphone - These little mics have been a game changer when it comes to clearing out the background noise and leaving my voice clear and crisp. I have quite literally recorded in a busy loud room full of people and you can only hear my voice on the recording. Completely worth the purchase!

  • A ring light portable LED light for the brighter indoor videos.
Ring Light Tripod - The lighting can be such a huge different in quality of details and hue. It's like day and night when it comes to drawing the attention of the human eye. This is an easy to use ring light that is simple and easy to just attach my phone into and click away for film and photos.

  • A phone mount that makes recording from different angles simple.
Travel Phone Mount - This little one is what I use when I travel or I am taking quick trip somewhere and do not want to bring big bulky equipment with me. Its little and supports all the necessary angles required phone a decent photo.

  • A portable power bank so my phone stays charged during long filming sessions.
Portable Charger/Power Bank - Does it seem like your electronics are always dying on you? Especially when you decide to travel or go to an event? This one has given me freedom from constantly looking for a power outlet.

  • A notebook to plan blog posts, video ideas, and content calendars.
Pocket Notebook Journals - These little handy-dandy notebooks I keep one in my car, in my purse and one is floating around my house (depends on when and where an idea might pop up in my head). I like to keep my note taking a little old school, so a notebook is fundamental for everyday use.

  • An external hard drive or cloud storage to safety back up photos and videos.
500GB External Hard Driver - I have had my filming unknowingly paused because I ran out of storage and of course I am stubborn and refuse to pay even more than I already do to Apple for more storage. A little extra portable space is all I need! LOL

I'll continue updating this list as I discover products I genuinely enjoy using. If you purchase through one of my affiliate links, I may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. Your support helps me continue creating free content and sharing my journey.

Thank you for following along as I learn the ins and outs of blogging and vlogging. Whether you're here for gardening inspiration, homesteading tips, or simply to watch someone figure it all out one step at a time, I'm glad you're here!
